Different from other dishes such as silkworm cake, silkworm cake with shumai, spicy silkworm cake..., Thoi Long silkworm cake with shrimp has a different appearance and taste. If other types of silkworm cakes have large, round fibers, then Thoi Long silkworm cakes are small, smooth and have a sweet taste.

The highlight that makes this hometown dish unique is the filling, which includes diced cassava, stir-fried with bacon and shrimp. In particular, the shrimp here must be small shrimp, also known as seaweed shrimp, rice husk shrimp... This type of shrimp is often abundant in the flood season, the meat is sweet and always fresh. Side dishes include bean sprouts, cucumber, raw vegetables, and pickles. The pickles of silkworm cakes are sometimes made with shredded white radish, red radish, sometimes papaya, and pickled chayote (depending on each stall). Served with sweet and sour fish sauce typical of the West.

In the past, silkworm cakes were often wrapped in banana leaves, but today the cakes are often placed in plates or bowls. The white color of the cake and bean sprouts, the green color of raw vegetables and cucumbers, the orange red color... When used, it only needs to be boiled or used for a few minutes, and the flavor reaches 80-90% freshness.
